His first recording, "Lawdy Miss Clawdy", included
the piano of Fats Domino (another great R&B star who
was very successful in making the transition to rock 'n'
roll). "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" was a huge hit— Cashbox & Billboard
named it 1952's "Record of the Year" R & B.
In 2005, Kermit the Frog will be celebrating 50 years as
a Brand, Walt Disney opened up his gates 50 years ago, and
in 1952, Dwight Eisenhower was taking office, the Yankees
defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in a close 4-3 World Series,
the cost of a US Postage Stamp was .03 cents, Jackie Gleason
made his debut on CBS in a series called the ‘Honeymooners’,
and 17 year old Lloyd Price sold his first million records
in his debut single record when he wrote the lyrics & music,
co- produced and sung the song, which has since become one
of the most popular Character Lady Brands ever, her name
is Lawdy Miss Clawdy’, This animated
beauty has just begun to have fun again as an Icon Brand.
